The Pilot Program

This past spring, we celebrated our second growing season at our pilot locatiom program at 1147 Central Avenue. Students started seedlings in the classroom, planted in the gardens and leaned about the importance of healthy soil.

Crops

In the past two seasons we have grown lettuce, kale, swiss chard, beet, carrots, radishes, tomatoes, basil, corn, squash, zucchini and beans. Some of our produce is sold to cover costs to maintain the gardens, but most of the produce is donated to the Needham Community Council Food Pantry.
